Zvi Bekerman sucht neue Kompromisse im israelisch-palästinensischen Friedensprozess

Zvi Bekerman von der Hebrew University Jerusalem führt in Kooperation mit dem „Israel-Palestine Center for Research and Information“ (IPCRI) Studien durch, die neue Aspekte des Nahostkonflikts beleuchten soll. In einer Interview-basierten, qualitativen Studie werden Bedürfnisse von sogenannten Siedlergemeinden und Gefllüchteten untersucht. Die Studie soll neue Ideen und mögliche Kompromisse hervorbringen. Bei dieser Arbeit unterstützen Bekerman seit mehreren Jahren ASA-Teilnehmende.

How did you get in contact with the ASA-Program and what kind of project did you realize with the ASA-participants?

I think it all started in 2004 when (I really do not remember how) I hosted for a first time two ASA young researchers who help me develop one of my research projects…they were exceptional …and since then all others have been so too.

What was your most interesting/ funny/ exciting/ unexpected or impressive experience with ASA?

Last year the two interns who where working with me informed me ASA was interested in having me submit a new proposal for next year and not every two years as I had done till now…it as a nice surprise and I’m looking forward to work with the next 3 ASA participants who will be arriving next October.

What should the ASA-Program learn for the future?

They are already doing a wonderful job I hope they would consider allowing for longer internships.

What do you wish the ASA-Program for its 50. birthday?

120 years more …at least!
