What was your most interesting/ funny/ exciting/ unexpected or impressive experience with ASA?
The ASA volunteers are almost always highly motivated, competent, efficient young professionals who leave a real legacy behind. One of these, from Lithuania, taught me what super-efficiency combined with absolute dedication to serve, is all about. She was one of the most helpful, perceptive, technically skilled and socially able human beings I have ever met and set a standard by which I now ‘measure’ all our relationships and performance, at home among ourselves (we never measure up!!!) and for new volunteers. Truly, the people who come to us via ASA are often spectacular and gifted human beings who radiate help, and build hope, for the future, into every space that they enter in.
