Short profile

Joint learning for participation and responsible social action is the focus of the ASA Programme. The aim of the leaning and capacity-building programme in the field of development-policy is to provide young people with the skills to act and shape their lives so that they can make a long-term and effective contribution to sustainable development in various areas of society.

Programme funding

As an offer of Engagement Global, the ASA Programme works on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and many federal states. In addition, it achieves its goals through cooperation with partner institutions in countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South-East Europe that co-finance, support or are involved in the implementation of the programme.

Distinctions

In recent years we have been particularly pleased to receive two awards: In 2015, the German Council for Sustainable Development awarded the ASA Programme the Workshop N Quality Seal and the German UNESCO Commission appointed the ASA Programme 2014 as the official measure of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014).
