The ASA Programme emphasises acquiring knowledge, gaining experiences, and learning skills that facilitate sustainable action in a globally inter-connected world. Participants receive a scholarship.
Financial support for participants from countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South-East Europe through the ASA Programme includes:
Costs of the ASA seminars (accommodation, meals, seminar content);
Cost of travel to the ASA seminars during the project phase in Germany;
Health, accident and third-party liability insurance for the stay in Germany;
An allowance of €452 monthly for living expenses plus an additional €109 for staying abroad for the three months in Germany;
The German partner institution receives an allowance from the ASA Programme to provide participants accommodation for three months;
Allowance for living expenses for the three-month project phase in the participants’ country of residence (currently on average around €300 per month)
Travel and visa costs are covered by the German partner institution.

What costs will participants be expected to pay on their own?
Any other costs that arise from the projects will need to be paid for by the participants themselves. Partner institutions will provide required materials for the project.
