The ASA Programme has gained many years of experience, thanks to collaborations with governmental and non-governmental organisations – in particular, foundations, grassroots initiatives, and implementing organisations of the German Development Cooperation. The projects include a variety of strategies that focus on sustainable global development.
Participants from countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South-East Europe go through all phases of the programme with participants from Germany. A key programme component is the six-month project phase, with three months spent at a partner institution in Germany followed by three months at an organisation in participants’ country of residence. One of the ASA Programme’s primary goals is fostering international learning communities.
