Would you like to work on a transnational project with young people from a partner country in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeast Europe and Germany? We provide scholarships for all participants during their time abroad, as well as subsidies to cover travel and insurance costs.
The global format of the ASA Programme enables you to build up partnerships and foster meaningful dialogue. Together with partners in Germany and partner countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Southeast Europe, you can bring your project idea to life and collaborate with young people worldwide. Participants from both countries work together on a six-month project, beginning with a three-month project phase in Germany, followed by a three-month project phase in the partner country. Your Benefits
- Consulting: We advise you on the development and design of your project proposal.
- Application process: We promote your sustainability project and manage our proven application process.
- Preparation of participants: We support participants in preparing for the project phase through our seminars.
- Funding through a scholarship: We provide all participants with funding during their time abroad, including subsidies for travel and insurance costs.
- Coverage of seminar costs: We cover accommodation and meal expenses for all participants, as well as travel costs for participants from partner countries.
- Support with visa applications: We assist participants from partner countries in obtaining 90-day visas for Germany by providing letters of support.

Please note that the participants are not external experts; they are learners who will work alongside you to complete tasks within your project. The ASA Programme does not provide any material or financial support for projects.
What we expect from you as a project partner
Your Contribution as a project partner in Germany
- Project proposal: You develop the project proposal together with your project partner – we are happy to support you in this process.
- Selection Process: You independently select the participants for your sustainability project from a shortlist provided by the ASA Programme.
- Arrival in Germany: You support participants from the partner country upon their arrival, provide them with accommodation, and co-finance their stay in Germany. You can find detailed information about the finances below.
- Project implementation: You will provide technical and organisational support to the project team in the concrete preparation, implementation and follow-up of the project phase.
Your Contribution as a project partner in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Southeast Europe
- Project Proposal: You develop the project proposal together with your project partner in Germany.
- Selection Process: You are responsible for the participants’ application process in your country and select suitable candidates independently. Participants must have English language skills at level B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), as the seminar language is English.
To the Framework
- Project implementation: You provide technical and organisational support to participants in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the project in your country, for example in group processes and project management, and are the contact person for questions.
- On-site support: You provide the necessary financial resources, such as workshop materials, for the project to be carried out.
